Australian Culture and Identity

It could be said that Australia’s identity as a vibrant multicultural society has much to do with marketing a new country to the world. As a relatively new country, Australia suffers from the tensions of an emerging identity that tries to integrate multiple cultural perspectives and indigenous cultural rights into an essentially white Anglo-Saxon cultural paradigm. This has lead to confusion from the world, and surprisingly many Australians, as to what ‘Australian’ culture really is.
